COVID-19 update 21 March 2020
Yesterday it was announced that the DVSA was postponing driving tests due to COVID-19 as well as stricter social distancing rules being advised by the government. These times are certainly unprecedented.
As a consequence of this I took the decision yesterday to stop teaching for at least the next 2 weeks. This will give me opportunity to see whether or not these new measures are working. Yesterday I contacted all of my current pupils, as well as those due to start. They all understood and are supportive of me taking this measure. I am lucky to have such great pupils.
Please know that this wasn't an easy decision to make. Being self employed I don't get paid when I don't work. Although the government has announced a lot of measures to help those through this crisis sadly these do not at this time help self employed people.
I will be in contact with my pupils before the 2 weeks is up to discuss what I will be doing next with lessons. I will take current advice from the government when that time comes.
Thank you for you support. My car is clean/disinfected and ready to have it's headboard put back on to recommence work at the right time.
